October

I'm officially another year older now - it was my birthday at the beginning of the month. The boys all bought me sweets and chocolates, and I had a whole week of eating take out and lovely food, so the weight watcing didnt go so well :/ But hey, it was the first year that they boys actually thought to go and buy me something for themselves, with their own money so I was thrilled.

I finally finished my lovely alpaca top that I was knitting:Although I'm not sure I like it now its done *blush*

Barnaby got his first tooth on the 10/10/10 and is, as ever, the most delightful little bean, here he is whilst I was preparing dinner during a power cut the other day:

We have been enjoing the autumnal season with lots of outdoor play on drier days and some messy indoor play with conkers and paint on not so dry days. Elijah really enjoyed conker painting, which was great for his hand-eye coordination as he controlled the tray to move the conker around in the paint.

We have just got back from Lincoln this week too - we had planned a lovley family holiday there for the half term, but unfortunately I came down with an ear infection and having spent the majority of the second day there hunting down a walk in centre for treatment, and then feeling worst by the minute, we decided to cut the trip short. In typical style, the weather wasn't kind to us, we always seem to have rainy weather when we go on holiday, but we did manage to meet up with my Mum and Step Dad for lunch one day, take a brisk stroll along a very windy Mablethorpe beach and have a whislte stop tour of Lincoln City centre. I really liked it there, we will definitely have to go back.

Back to School - Autumn Term part 1

Wow time has run away with me again and it's been ages since I posted.

The big boys have gone back to school and we (me and the little boys) miss them incredibley. But with school in mind, we have set about home schooling with much gusto. We have begun to look at the alphabet and Elijah has made an alphabet caterpillar using the letters of his name. He did all the cutting out by himself.

He now confidently knows the letters that begin all of our names and the letters that make up his Christian name.

We have also been baking using lots of our yummy eggs. Elijah is muhc more confident with numbers than letters at the moment and can count from 0 to 10. We practiced this when we decorated our lovely cakes - which were voted delicious by all!

I can confirm they were delicious too - although there's no photographic evidence from me!
